Shredded Mozzarella or other Cheeses 4 to 8ounces
Toppings Sliced or Diced Onion about ½ a cup
Sliced or Diced Tomatoes about ½ a cup
Sliced or Chopped Mushrooms about ½ a cup
Bell Peppers Sliced or Chopped about ½ a cup
Your Favorite Olives about ½ to ½ a cup
Fresh Spinach or Arugula about ½ to 1 cup
Fresh Basil or other Herbs about ¼ to ½ a cup
Your Favorite All Natural Sausage about 4 to 8 ounces
Your Favorite All Natural Cooked Bacon ¼ to ½ cup
Marinated Artichoke Hearts ½ to 1 cup
Roasted Red Peppers about ¼ to ½ cup
Adding your favorite toppings is easier than you think. Have your toppings ready. Cheeses can be shredded or sliced thin and broken or cut into pieces to make a more rustic looking pizza. Try Asiago, Feta, Fresh Mozzarella, or aged Sharp Provolone and add them sparingly or get carried away.
Peppers and Onions could be sliced very thin and put on raw if you like them to have more texture or sauteed, or roasted briefly to caramelize, soften and bring out more flavor.
Fresh Herbs like basil, or thyme can be added before baking your pizza or sprinkled on top after your pizza comes out of the oven.
Spinach can be wilted with a touch of garlic before putting on your pizza or you can place baby spinach leaves on top of your pizza as long as you add some additional cheese over the top.
Arugula adds spiciness and freshness when sprinkled over a pizza right out of the oven.
Toss arugula with a touch of olive oil and balsamic vinegar then put it on top of your pizza.
Sausage can be removed from its casing, sauteed over briefly to cook through, then drained of any excess fat before adding to your pizza. Sausage can also be grilled, or roasted, then sliced thin and placed on top of your pizza.
Crisp bacon cut into bits or larger chunks if you prefer adds both texture and flavor.
Mushrooms can be added raw or prepared according to your favorite recipe and then added. Different varieties of mushrooms combined create original flavor and add elegance.
When adding toppings place meats on first, then vegetables, then cheese in most cases.
